Original Two-Sided Sign from the Yasgur Dairy Farm, Site of the Woodstock Festival

The Woodstock Music & Art Fair is universally recognized as a pivotal moment in our popular culture at the height of Rock and Roll. Immediately following the world famous festival, a local person passed by the entrance to the Max Yasgur Farm, site of the Festival, noticing that the metal sign, consistent with similar signs hung from the entrance to the countless farms across our nation, had been knocked from its post and lying on the side of the road. He removed the sign, placing it in his basement.

A quarter of a century later in 1994, images of the sign were shown on The Conan O’Brien Network Television Show, honoring the twenty-five year anniversary of the Festival. Having left its basement storage only for the brief exposure on the O’Brien show, the sign was then returned to long-term storage, where it sat for another seventeen years. Today, forty-two years after the famed Festival, this important artifact is being offered for sale.
