Kevin Blackwell’s extensive collection of celebrity memorabilia, which spans decades of pop culture—from John F. Kennedy to Taylor Swift—has grown from a small-town kid’s dreams of the rich and famous to a fantastically diverse accumulation of objects from the greats of film, television, sports, auto racing, politics, and country and pop music. The first major item he acquired was a suit worn by John Travolta during his Saturday Night Fever days, a piece of disco royalty that inspired him to gather more and more artifacts from the storied careers of pop culture legends.

His collection grew larger and more impressive—as did his ever-expanding automotive business—and the success of these twin pursuits led to an ideal means of displaying and sharing his collection: a magnificent showroom at his Bonne Terre location. This showroom, filled to the brim with spectacular costumes, guitars, cars from film and the racetrack, and countless other celebrity items, effectively became a museum of culture’s biggest personalities, drawing visitors keen to have an up-close look at these prizes of the screen, stage, and sporting world. While others might bring this star-studded auction to Las Vegas or Los Angeles, Guernsey’s thought to hold the event right in Bonne Terre, where it has been an attraction for years.

The approximately 800-lot, mostly unreserved event will feature such exciting finds as Marilyn Monroe’s white fur stole recovered from the set of Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, an original Starfleet cadet uniform used onscreen in Star Trek: The Next Generation, a Grand Ole Opry fiddle signed by Ernest Tubbs, Hank Williams, and Cowboy Copas, and two Dale Earnhardt cars (Senior and Junior)—speaking of cars, automobile aficionados certainly won’t want to miss out on the world’s largest late model dirt track racer and a Cadillac designed to resemble a giant rooster! The collection includes hundreds of other one-of-a-kind objects, some from films and series such as The Godfather, Planet of the Apes, Gone With the Wind, and The Sopranos, as well as items related to icons and celebrities from every corner of the pop culture universe. In addition to the many famed figures mentioned above, the auction will feature Angelina Jolie, Bruce Springsteen, Waylon Jennings, Paul Newman, Joe Montana, Harrison Ford, Willie Nelson, David Beckham, Elton John, and Henry Ford.
