Lot 887* Jacqueline Kennedy's 1909 Aeolian Walnut Baby Grand Piano from Hammersmith Farm

A 1909 Aeolian Walnut Baby Grand Piano from Hammersmith Farm in Newport, Rhode Island. Hammersmith Farm, the childhood home of Jacqueline Bouvier, was utilized by the Kennedy's as the "Summer White House" from 1960 to 1963. Jacqueline Kennedy played on this piano during her childhood and it was played at the Kennedy's wedding reception in 1953. Renowned entertainer, Liberace, performed on this piano while visiting Hammersmith Farm. Tuners etchings in the piano show tuning dates and initials from 1959-1986. The piano resided in the Deck Room of the house as evidenced from photographs. Good condition. The piano has been restored and tuned to fine working condition.
