Special U.S. passport number 41194 issued to and used by John F. Kennedy during the early 1950's. This document, printed on thick, light green paper and issued Sept. 12, 1951, states that the bearer "is a Representative in the Congress of the United States of America from the state of Massachusetts" and is valid only for travel on official business and would expire in two years. The description lists Kennedy as six feet tall with brown hair and green eyes, born in Brookline, Massachusetts on May 29, 1917 and is signed below the description by John F. Kennedy. The page inside the front cover has been filled out by hand with the bearer's address of "122 Bowdoin Street, Boston, Massachusetts" and in case of death to notify "Joseph P. Kennedy, Hyannis Port, Mass." A black and white photograph of Kennedy is attached to the fourth page with U.S. Dept. of Justice Immg. & Natz. Service stamps showing admittance to New York on Dec. 17, 1952 and Boston on Aug. 27, 1953.
While carrying this passport, Kennedy traveled to Europe, the Near East, and the Far East to study political, military, and economic conditions in various countries. He was accompanied on his travels by his brother Robert and sister Patricia. Various certified notations document Kennedy's travels to such distant lands as France, Iran, India, Pakistan, Vietnam, Singapore and Japan. One certificate, printed on Embassy of The United States letterhead, verifies that he is authorized to travel throughout Japan between Nov. 1, and Dec. 1, of 1951. Excellent condition. 6 x 7 1/2
