Herschell Spillman Carousel Horse
Around 1930, the Herschell Spillman Company began making aluminum legs and tails to replace the easily damaged wooden ones. Eventually, molds of the whole horses were made. The resulting horses, of which this is one, were made circa 1940. This horse was first Sold by Guernsey's Carousel Auction held at Saratoga Springs, New York in 1987.
