Picasso Le Gemmail

While researching Picasso’s work in a little recognized and intricate glass process known as Gemmaux, Guernsey’s efforts lead to the discovery of one such work in the Evansville Museum of Art in Indiana. Due to a recording error made by the Museum’s registrar when it was received in the mid-1960’s as a gift from Raymond Loewy, this Picasso lingered in the Museum’s storage vaults for fifty years, only to be unearthed as a result of Guernsey’s inquiry.

Seaside Heights Carousel

With 58 hand-carved figures, two chariots, original decorative trappings, and a historic Wurlitzer organ at its heart, the Seaside Heights Carousel is one of the grandest carousels ever crafted and one of the few originals remaining in the United States. In the manner of Guernsey’s successful sale of the last surviving Coney Island carousel effort is being made to find a new home for the Carousel in its entirety.
