Watch as a baseball makes auction history
Who can forget the magic summer of 1998? Sousa and McGwire were
slugging it out to break Babe Ruth's home run record. The season ended with
Mark McGwire's record setting 70th home run.
In early 1999, Guernsey's presented the auction world with a
sale of several famous baseballs, including the McGwire number 70. It fetched
a record shattering price of just over $3 million. (Twenty three times the
previous record.)
